Girl Scout Day - Conservators Center

Girl Scout Day

Does your Girl Scout want to earn a patch for meeting a lion, tiger, or wolf from just 5 feet away?

A fabulously fun day devoted to learning about wild animals up close, Girl Scout Day is full of fun activities, special handling demonstrations, and Girl Power! The Conservators Center opens its doors to our local Girl Scouts with learning activity stations, scavenger hunts, and more. Don’t miss this opportunity to earn the special Conservators Center Badge and learn about the animals with whom we share our planet!

Over 400 Girl Scouts participated in Girl Scout Days at the Conservators Center last year…and we made some changes to the event just for them!

In our BRAND NEW 2018 format, your scouts will spend their day:

Your scouts will spend their day:

  • meeting our animals on age-appropriate tours;
  • asking any questions of our friendly guides;
  • examining real fur and paw castings;
  • earning the special Conservators Center patch

New animals…new games…new learning stations. Even if your troop has visited before, you’re not going to want to miss all the exciting changes we’ve made! Additionally, all girls will receive a special grab bag full of wild little gifts!

Due to conflict with other scouting events, we have moved the date!  We don’t want you to miss this amazing day!

“Our girls truly loved the event. They came home exhausted but very excited!”

“This is the best event I’ve attended in 32 years of Girl Scouting.”

“Extremely well run and organized; please make this an annual event!”

This event will be fun and educational for girls who have already been to the Center, as well as those who will be meeting our awesome animals for the first time.

Weather

Event will take place with showers or light rain, but if forecast is for downpours and/or storms, Girl Scout Day will be moved to the rain date, April 21, 2018 Please make sure your troop sets the rain date aside, as well as the event date. If your troop cannot make the rain date, you can receive credit towards a tour at the Center.

Everyone attending should bring a water bottle and a bag lunch, and girls should bring sit-upons (adults will get priority at our picnic tables). After you register, you will receive an information packet that includes your troop’s customized schedule, items to bring, and important reminders.
