Come work at the Conservators Center as a Visitor Services Associate!
Under the direction of the Visitor Services Supervisor, the Visitor Services Associates are the first contact point for visitors and future donors of the Conservators Center and are therefore critical representatives of the Center to the public. We are accepting full and part-time applications.
Please Note: Availability on at least 2 days from Friday-Sunday is required. It is required that they go through the 90 day probationary period working Friday- Sunday first before promotion to full time and into other areas of growth
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:
Greeting visitors and donors checking in before tours and/or visitsManaging tour-related phone lines and emailsEnsuring prospective donors are introduced to appropriate personnelHandling gift shop and tour salesReceiving and sorting mail and deliveriesMaintaining a clean and professional gift shop, Visitors’ Services building, and public areas of the animal parkPreparing appropriate materials for tours and/or donor visits (this will include raw meat treats for the animals)Preparing the Visitors’ Services building and surrounding public areas for tour participantsOverseeing interns and volunteers assisting with day-to-day tasksDriving golf carts for visitors requesting mobility assistanceAssisting as needed in public-facing roles during eventsRepresenting the Conservators Center at offsite tabling events or programsAssisting with the maintenance and ordering of building and merchandise suppliesWorking cohesively with the other members of the Conservators Center staff and community, including supervisors and support staffMaintaining a professional and positive attitude in all interactions with the public, the staff, and the communityCreating and maintaining displays and information available in public areas of the facilityEnsuring positive, welcoming experiences for all visitors to the Conservators Center
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work weekends and/or holidaysHigh school diploma, or equivalentMust be at least 18 years of age or olderStrong interpersonal, team-building, and communication skillsBasic skills with Microsoft Office and Excel software applicationsWriting and penmanship skillsAbility to maintain a neat and organized work environmentLicensed to operate a motor vehicle in North CarolinaAbility to self-motivate and work in self-directed projects and tasksAbility to work actively (on your feet) as necessaryAbility to lift at least 25 lbs.

Experience and skill with online platforms such as Google DriveExperience working in a non-profit settingFamiliarity with the Conservators CenterPrior job experience working in a sales and/or retail environmentPrior job experience working in an administrative positionExperience working with domestic or exotic animals
