Our Winter Campaign was a HUGE success! We’d like to take this time to thank our community for raising the funds we needed to keep our animals healthy and happy during the harsh weather at this time of year. Considering a large heated bowl to keep drinking water from freezing costs $80, and building an insulated den box to keep a new resident warm costs up to $500, we’re grateful that our friends, fans, and followers helped ameliorate these costs. Other items funded include blankets, insulation, straw bedding, and more.
We’d be remiss not to mention Tut and Wendy Fennec Foxes’ new winter quarters, and those of Sash and Cole Binturong, as well! We’re appreciative of the special donors that gave these critters a space to stay super cozy and watch their devotees from the comfort of the great indoors.
All of this because of our lovely people! With your help, we—and our residents—rested easy when temperatures dropped.
Speaking of Winter, the most recent snowfall inspired one of our keepers, Briana Halliwell, to reflect on the role of a Keeper on frosty days. Visit our website to read her blog post!
