Caswell County’s Best Beer Benefit (Was A Roaring Success!)

On Friday, May 19, we hosted 60 guests for the sold-out twilight event, Lions, Tigers, and Beer, raising over $5000 for the organization.

Guests moved between six refreshment stations that each served unique, chef-prepared small plates and a paired beer provided by independent breweries, all inspired by one or more of the Center’s species. Since we’re highly committed to fostering community rapport, we called upon local breweries and restaurants to create the evening’s dishes. The brewers and chefs carefully paired their food and brews, stirring a friendly competition among them. A one-hour tour of the animal park followed.

“We consider this event a roaring success,” said Executive Director Mindy Stinner. “The chefs and brewmasters were very thoughtful in their pairings and really gave consideration to the animals inspiring the flavors. It was especially exciting to see all the new faces among the guests. We hope those are people who become lifelong supporters and friends.”

In addition to our guests, we would like to thank the Tabletop Media Group for coordinating the event, and especially Eric Meyers, owner of Hillsborough’s Mystery Brewing Company and long-time supporter of the Center, for originally conceptualizing it and pulling together participant vendors.
