Volunteer Opportunities

The Conservators' Center has a very small staff. We depend on committed volunteers to help us run the office, provide tours and offsite education programs, plan and carry out fundraising activities, construct new habitats, care for the grounds, and manage all of the care for our many animals.

Before you contact us about volunteering at our compound, you must first take a tour of our facility. If, after taking the tour, you are interested in volunteering, please email our volunteer coordinator to see if there are any available volunteer positions. You will be required to attend a volunteer orientation prior to beginning work at the Conservators' Center.
Please Note:

A commitment to become a trained volunteer at the Conservators' Center is not to be taken lightly. If you are looking for a place where you can drop in or simply spend a few hours on occasion, this is not a good fit for you. We ask that anyone who undertakes volunteer training plan to spend at least two full days at the Center each month, and we prefer that you commit at least one day a week in the early training stages.

For safety reasons, the Conservators' Center cannot accept volunteers under 18.

At the Conservators’ Center I feel like I’m part of a family, and I know my work is needed. I also feel that the animals understand and appreciate what I do for them. Some arrive after having been abused or neglected somewhere else. When they come to the Center they receive the right care and they associate the people who helped them with their improved lives. We make a difference for these animals.
