Help Us

If you would like to get involved and support the Center’s mission, you have many donation options. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, so all donations are tax deductible.

Donate for the Animals

You can make a donation through PayPal, or by sending a check to Conservators’ Center, Inc., PO Box 882, Mebane, NC 27302. For additional information about donating call (336) 421-0883 or send an email to tours@conservatorscenter.org.

Your donation will stretch even further if you work for an employer that provides matching funds for charitable donations. (Local employers who provide matching funds include GlaxoSmithKline, IBM, American Express, Bank of America, and Gregory Poole.)

If you contribute to United Way at work, you can earmark your donation for the Center.

Shop for the Animals

There are many ways you can help our animals by shopping and ordering items from a number of different merchants.

  • Conservators’ Center merchandise, including logo t-shirts, logo sweatshirts, and gorgeous note cards featuring our animals, are available by mail order from the Center.
  • Our CafePress storefront also offers various Conservators’ Center clothing items, calendars, coffee mugs, and bumper stickers featuring some of our most popular animals.
  • Available in limited quantities are paw prints and animal created artwork on canvas bought directly through the Center. Our animals enjoy expressing their artistic side in these one of a kind pieces of art. Please email us at tours@conservatorscenter.org or call (336) 421-0883 for more information.
  • Beautiful jewelry including the Center’s animals is available from White Wolf Gallery. Half of the proceeds from the Conservators’ Center animal jewelry is donated directly back to the Center.
  • Stunning images of the Center’s animals are available from Mark Kostich Photography. Prints purchased of the our animals benefit the Conservators’ Center.
  • Register your Food Lion MVP card with the Lion Shop & Share program and Conservators’ Center will benefit every time you shop at any one of their locations.
  • Shop your favorite online sites (including Amazon, Best Buy, Staples, Expedia, Home Depot, and more than 600 others) at iGive.com, and a percentage of the sale is donated to the Center. It’s a great deal: you don’t pay more for your products, and there’s no fee to use iGive.
  • Another shopping portal you can visit is iBakeSale.com, which includes several stores not available on iGive. Once you have signed up for free, the Center will receive a percentage of your purchases at participating online merchants.

Please email us at tours@conservatorscenter.org or call (336) 421-0883 with any questions you may have.

Special Events

Throughout the year we organize special fundraising events that not only help Conservators’ Center but are also fun to attend. See below for currently scheduled events and please check this section often as we plan new ones.

The curious Yogi
binturong loves
individual attention.

When you become a sponsor you will have the opportunity to develop a special relationship with your chosen animal while supporting the Center.

When you visit the Center we can show you the residents available for sponsorship. The resident you sponsor will continue to live at the Center, and you will receive periodic updates about your animal. If you have any questions about sponsorship, please call (336) 421-0883.

Because of the expenses associated with caring for different animals, the cost for sponsoring a particular Center resident depends on the species you select.

  • Discount on Specialty and Photography Tours
  • Discount on the Center’s special events

  • You will be offered the opportunity to shadow an animal keeper and learn how to properly feed treats to your animal, and how to provide enrichment.
  • You will receive an annual backstage tour for immediate family or friends (up to 5 individuals).

Become a Special Project Sponsor

These sponsorships involve the financial support of a particular project at the Center. Although volunteers provide most of the labor, the Center has to pay for materials, equipment, and professional services that are not donated. This is where sponsors’ financial support is critical. For example, sponsors support the construction and renovation of cages and outbuildings.

Some of the major upcoming projects include a new lion enclosure, expanding our perimeter fence into a new area, and building a Visitors’ Center. To learn more about these projects, call (336) 421-0883 or send an email to tours@conservatorscenter.org.

Sponsors receive a recognition plaque at the completed project site to acknowledge their generosity (unless they prefer anonymity).
